Spinner Ring
The ring of darkened silver is decorated with a moving flower of Lotus, where silver palms make four circles of petals. Each of the moving segments revolves around the central element of the flower that is static in the gesture of the palms in prayer. The rims of the ring are a bit narrowed to the finger folding and have an author’s ornament. The flower on the ring repeats the sculpture of the Lotus of Unity fountain in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, designed and installed by my authorship. Project is a symbol of mutual support and combined efforts to preserve cultural and spiritual values. This is a symbol of our unity in self-studying.
Lotus symbol
Lotus is a relic plant. The lotus is known from the prints of the fossil flora left at the end of the Cretaceous period and refers to the first plants of the flower species. Lotus flowers, born among marsh and silt, always remain clean. They have an interesting feature – their upper surface is not wetted with water which is collected into large drops. That is why Lotus is a symbol of cleanliness.
Lotus seeds can be stored for centuries and even thousands of years. This is actually an amazing plant that can be consumed or used as a medicine. The use of Lotus in medicine is mentioned in ancient Chinese treatises, dated the 3rd century BC. Lotus bloom on drawings and ornaments of cultural buildings of Ancient Egypt and sculptures of Assyria. Flower of Lotus is a sacred plant that decorates every Buddhist Temple. Sculptors often depict meditation of Buddha, sitting in lotus position on a lotus throne. The incredible Temple of Lotus is built in Indian Delhi only due to the donations of believers.
