Collectible jewelry
The jewelry is made of copper using electro-forming technique with patina. The ring consists of a detailed replica of a ride poppy seed and a hole that goes through the pod of the fruit. The finger penetrates the ring space as if plunging into another reality, full of riddles and meanings.
This wild Ukrainian poppy once turned into a mysterious ring. The pod has an unusual appearance, and the small petals on the corolla are opened at an atypical angle, as if they hug the crown. Mother Earth creates perfection in an inexhaustible variety of forms, and this ring is a true mystery of nature, which magically combines with the jewelry of the poppy collection.
Legends and myths
Archaeological finds indicate the poppy cult flourished in the ancient times. The seal, which was created around 1500 BC, found on the Acropolis of Mycenae, is a ring decorated with the image of the Goddess Mekon, who accepts poppy-headed steams as a gift.
In Ukraine, since pagans times, the poppy has been around in legends, songs and rituals. A powerful talisman against impure forces and all evil. Girls weaved poppies with heads instead of ribbons in their hair, son that the bride would not unravel.
Springs of mint, thyme, wormwood, yarrow and other healing potions are collected in the traditional Ukrainian “poppy seed”, and poppy seeds are always added. The bouquet is blessed on Makovei, dried and stored, using herbs in case of illness, and the seeds of the consecrated poppy are sown in the ground in spring.
Decoration material
Nature itself gave mankind copper, a non-ferrous metal which became in a step from the Stone Age to the Copper one. Now copper is mined from sulfide ores, but in the old days only malachite was available for smelting. This metal is also found in nuggets form. Not-patinated copper over time is covered with a normal oxide film.
Poppy ring
According to the Vedic astrological tradition, the five elements are harmoniously intertwined in a ring of poppies. The symbol of the poppy brings us earthly energy and water: copper symbolizes the element of fire, a hole for a finger, air and ether.
